In birthday experiment ideas new photography photos

Happy Birthday!

Hiya,
Over the last week I celebrate my birthday! I had an amazing birthday and got to spend some time with my family and had an amazing brunch at a nearby cafe.
For my birthday, I received some photography course- I can't wait to share some of my new found skill with you.

I've been experimenting with some different photography lately, and I have uploaded some of my favourites below.
Let me know what you think of them.

P.S. I am thinking about re-desiging the blog, what do you think?

Perfection Is the Wrong Direction

Hello,
Perfect -
1. having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be:
2. absolute, complete.

It is something that most of us strive to be. But is that what we should be doing? I found this Ted talk by Isabella Fons the other day and I think that it is one that everyone should watch.

What do you think?

In ideas memories. music power TED thoughts

The power of music

Music is a funny thing, don't you think? Ok, maybe not, but hear me out.
Don't you think it is amazing how listening to a certain song can bring back a thousand memories from years ago, and a different song can feel you with joy or sadness, what about that one song that makes you happy no matter what else is going on or how you were just feeling?

I don't play music, so I don't have a special connection to any songs like some people do (like the girl in the video below), but I still love listening to it. Sometimes it is the words that makes me like a song, sometimes it is the music. What about you?

Here is a video I have found, I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but the small part I did watch sounded really interesting and I hope that it adds to this post. I will definitely watch the rest later.
Enjoy...
What did you think?

Original Ideas

Super excited because I've got the day off school tomorrow, and will have heaps of extra time to write some posts, find some awesome new blogs to read and I might even make a video for Thursday? If you have a blog, I'd love to check it out, leave your URL below! Oh, and of course, catch up on some homework. Also, if you have any video/post ideas, I'd love to see them below.

ANYWAY, to get onto the actual reason I am here today, I'm taking a course at school at them moment, called introduction to philosophy or something similar. I'm finding it kind of hard because it is asking, unlike most of my other subjects, for what you think. And just what you think, not what you think because of what someone else thought!

Does anyone else think that it is slightly alarming that we aren't being taught how to think for ourselves, but are just being taught to draw conclusions from what other people have said? Because I think this is a serious problem. If we are only being taught to make our 'thoughts' from what other people have said how will we deal with problems in the future, that haven't been faced before?

If we are only being taught,

or even told that we have to, model our ideas off others and any idea we have has to backed up with evidence FROM SOMEONE ELSE, we are never going to have original ideas. Yeah, it may not be a requirement in the workforce, but it that is how you have been told to do it at school for years, that is how you are going to do it. Original ideas are become rarer and rarer, because we are not 'allowed' to have them at school.

Having an original idea is becoming harder, because so many people have lived before, but it is not impossible. Original, by definition, means not dependant on other people's ideas. So even if your 'original' idea is similar to someone else's it is still original, provided that it hasn't been influenced by someone else.

But isn't everything influenced by something? Me, sitting here, writing this blog post, isn't because I suddenly had the idea that there was this issue. It was because of the conversations I've had, the things I think, and the people around me. Does this mean my writing isn't my 'original idea'? Or is the difference if you seek out the influence, if you are looking for something to tell you how to think and then have an idea because of that, it is not an 'original idea'? If we are constantly surrounded by other peoples ideas and thoughts, how will we ever have an original idea, something that is purely our own.

But then again, if you have a thought, and it isn't because of something you just read because you wanted to have that thought, is it an original idea? Yes it has been influenced by people, and the things you have experienced, but that is all part of who you are. Writing this now, I think it is what I believe.

So, I think we have established that you can have an original idea. Let's go with, if it's an idea you've had and weren't looking for, or reading something that told you what to think (cause hey, that would give everyone who worked for media a whole lot of power), it's an original idea! But are we ever going to use our ability to have an original idea if we aren't taught how? I don't think so.

If we are being told that we have to get the right answer, and that we have to base our work off what other people have said, we are just copying them, in a way. In a subtle way we are being taught that originality is bad (hey, let's save more on that for another post), and that we need to have evidence from someone else or what we are saying is useless.

I'm not saying we shouldn't listen to anything other people have said, but I am saying that I think it is important to have an equalish balance between 'original ideas' and researching what other people think.

I'd really like to hear what you think about this post, and what it's talking about? Do you think having original ideas is no longer important? Or do you think that we need to learn to think for ourselves?

Experiments in Black and White

What do you think of when you see something in black and white? For a lot of people it is a nostalgia, memories. There is something about the honesty of a black and white photo, it changes everything. Colour is no longer the main focus of the image, suddenly the lines, shapes and patterns become much more noticeable. What you think about when you see the image changes.

Personally, I love black and white photos, they are so beautiful and it's almost like two completely different images when comparing a black and white image to a colour one. Today I want to share some photos I have taken, most of them a while ago, and edited to be black and white.

My 3 Favourite Blog Posts

Super busy week this week! And I should really be finishing my assignment for tomorrow now, but I took a break to write this quick blog post.
We've had this blog for nearly a year now (how exciting!) and I wanted to share links to my 3 all time favourite posts, enjoy.

1.Delicious Breakfast Smoothie Bowl
This was shared during the holidays, and I still love this smoothie bowl, unfortuently I can't have it as much now school has gone back.

2.Goodbye 2016
This post was one of my favouirtes to write, because it was nice to look back on the year- and a letter to 2016- I'm glad I found my inspiration for that.

3.Being a quiet person.
This post is by far our most popular one, and I think that is is my favourite- purely because it got my thoughts out there.

Reading

I hope that anyone who started school last week had a good week (or as good as it could be). I've just started my 10th year of school, which in Australia, is the 3rd year of high school. (back to school posts can be found here)

The other day I was sitting in my English class, listening to my teacher talk about reading and how important it is that everyone is reading. It got me thinking, and although I might not have listened to the rest of her speech about reading, I was thinking about how important it is in my life. If you'd like to see some of the things I've been reading, check out these posts.

You think you don't read much?
A lot of people my age say they hate reading, or never read. But that is not true. You read everyday. Just think about it for a minute. You are reading this right now. But you also read when you turn on your phone to check social media, or when you get a text. You absentmindedly read all the signs and advertisements around you. Reading is such an important and significant part of your life, and you don't even realise it.

Think for a second, back to before you started school and learnt to read. Do you remember what it was like? I don't. But I can image it would be like being in a foreign country, where they speak a language that you don't understand- perhaps one with different letters or characters. So many people don't realise how much of an impact reading has on their lives, but it is just as important or significant, perhaps even more than numbers. But even then don't you read numbers too?

Why should you start reading?

Anyway, the main reason I am writing this post is because reading is such a huge part of my life, and I want to share that with you, and if reading isn't a big part of your life- I hope that I can inspire you to give it a go.

Reading a wide variety of things (from newspapers to blogs, novels to magazines) improves you vocabulary dramatically. You learn many different words, and the context they are used in, and this will translate and be evident in any writing that you do, and even in your everyday conversations.

Reading is also the best way to improve your spelling, which once again translates into your writing. (and when you have in class tests, it is reasonably valuable to know how to spell all those amazing words you hear.)

Why is reading such a big part of my life?

To be honest I don't really know. But I have always read, since I was little I have read for a while each night before I got to sleep, it is just normal in my family.
And I really enjoy it, it is something I can spend hours doing on the weekend or in the holidays, and generally speaking I never really find it boring.
Reading is a way of escaping, it gives us somewhere to go when we have to stay where we are. Through reading you can visit thousands of different worlds, without having to travel for even a minute.

Why is reading disappearing?

Most people don't read for fun. They don't enjoy, or have never tried, picking out the book at the shop and spending hours transported into another world. Personally, I believe that this is because we are so caught up with other things, and everyone is so busy. All the time that used to be spent reading is now taken up by social media or browsing the internet. I'm 100% not saying that you shouldn't still use the internet and social media. I just think that it is important that we still find time to do other things (like reading).

Another possible reason for how unpopular reading has become, could be schools. At the moment, we are constantly being told that we should be reading and we need to read everyday. And one way that is almost certain to make someone less likely or motivated to do something is to tell them they have to. By making 15 minutes of reading each night compulsory, or forcing books onto people, schools may just we working in the wrong direction.

One of my least favourite parts of school is having to read novels in class. The main reason for this being, that I find them boring. They always seem to choose the least interesting books for us to read in class, and really that is not going to help encourage anyone to start reading.  (and this paragraph is the actual reason I wrote this post)

Tying it up
It really frustrates me how people make it so loud when they hate or don't like something. Reading is something I really like, and I am perfectly fine if you don't want to read or have no interest in it. But I hope that you have read this and are aware of what you are missing out on by choosing not to read.

qotp: do you like reading? why?

In 2017 5 5 benifits 5 reasons 5 things 5 ways back to school experience ideas learn tips try why i love works for me

Back to school tips

It’s almost time to go back to school. It’s kind of a weird mix of sadness and excitement. It is always sad when the holidays are over, but I’m also kind of excited to start some of my new classes, especially the ones I have chosen that I haven’t been able to do in previous years. Today I wanted to share some back to school tips.

1.Buy your books and stationary early.

If you get in before the summer holidays, or as early as you can, books and stationary it usually cheaper, and there is a lot more to choose from.

2.Get organised before term starts

If you need to do any cleaning out, the best time to do it is before school starts. It is always easier to start the term organised and ready, instead of having to rush around and be lost before you’ve even been at school for a week.

3.get rid of all your old school things that you don’t need anymore.

There is no need to keep your sheets from four years ago, go through and throw them out before you collect any new ones for the year. Sometimes it could be useful to reuse books, but if you don’t need them don’t keep them.

4.try on your uniform and buy new clothes early.

Don’t pull out your uniform the day before school starts and suddenly realise that you need a new one. It’s possible the shops will be sold out before then.

5.don’t take all your books on the first day.

I have 8 subjects, that means at least 8 books. Nothing is worse than having a heavy school bag and sore back. If you don’t have 8 subjects on each day, don’t take all your books. I would take my maths one, and five others. But I don’t label them first, because that way you can label the books that you need, and save your back.

Let me know in the comments below, if you have any back to school tips.

5 Projects for 2017

Woohoo! We made it to 2017!
I hope everyone had a wonderful new years eve, and enjoyed any celebrations last night. Today (I know, three posts in three days!) I am going to share 5 projects that I am going to try during 2017...

1.Weekly Scrapbook

I've been inspired by the project life scrap booking system, and in 2017, I am going to try and create a yearbook with their project 52 cards. Hopefully I'll be able to give updates on the blog, and be able to keep this up all year. I know that it will be something to treasure in years to come.

2.Gratitude Journal

I started this in March this year, and have plans to continue it during 2017. Each night I write a few sentences about my day, and the thing I am most grateful for.

3.Bullet Journal

I started my bullet Journal in September of 2016, and I definitely plan on continuing to use it in 2017. I haven't worked everything out yet, but I have got some ideas for pages to start off the new year.

4. Creative Bug, creative boot camp course.

I can't wait for this creative bug course to start on the 3rd of January. It goes for 6 weeks and is run by Lisa Congdon. Here is a link so you can check the class out.

5. 365 Photo Project

I've been reading about these for a while, and I've decided to give it a go. In a nutshell, a 365 photography project involves taking a photo everyday for the next year. I'm not too sure how long I will be able to keep this up, but I am going to give it my best shot.

6.Happiness Jar
I found this idea on pinterest, and I am going to give it a go this year. It involves simply writing down some of the good memories, feelings and things that happen throughout the year and placing them in a jar. On New Years eve, you open the jar and read all of the amazing things that happened throughout the year.

Are you planning on starting any projects in 2017?

In books ideas poppy poppy's post reading reviews. suggestions

What I've read recently

Hey there,
I'm so busy at the moment it is almost ridiculous. The first week back at school for the final term of this year has been very full on and to be honest I can't wait until this term is over. I find that during the school term I get very stressed and worry about the smallest things. One of the things I do to help manage this stress and worry is reading. I try my best to read for at least half an hour every night to help myself relax and get ready for a good sleep before a new day. Today I am going to share some of the books I have read in the last few weeks.

Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley- I read this book while I was away in Queensland and I enjoyed it but did find it a bit confusing at times. The story follows Rachel Sweetie and Henry Jones, two teenagers who were once best friends- but that was before Rachel moved away. After years with no contact Rachel moves back, grieving for her brother and tries to blend back into the life she left behind. This is a romance novel by an Australian YA author, I definitely recommend it.

The Memory Book by Lara Avery- I loved this beautiful book and the way it was written. Sammy McCoy is on the way to graduating at the top of her class, moving away from the small town she hates and going to her dream school. Nothing will stop her from getting there, not even the rare disease that she has been told will steal both her memories and her health. Written to her future self the memory book is Sammy's way of trying to secure her future in a world that seems against her.

Nothing Tastes as Good by Claire Hennessy- This book was different to many things I've read before and I really enjoyed it. Annabel is dead and has been assigned to 'help' Julia. Annabel thinks the problem is obvious- Julia is fat and being fat makes you unhappy. But as the story unfolds and Annabel learns more about Julia the real problems start to appear.

Only We Know by Simon Packham- A very interesting book that I could barely put down. New, school, new town, new Lauren. Lauren's family have moved from their previous home very suddenly, with no obvious explanation (or at least not that we know of). Lauren settles into her new life until she sees Harry, a boy from her old life, a boy who could let her secret out. Just as Lauren was settling her past starts coming back, the text isn't it time your new friends knew about you' being only the beginning.

Let me know in the comments below what you thought of these books if you have read them.

My trip to Queensland

Hey,
Last Monday I flew to visit my Aunt, Cousin and Grandma in Queensland with one of my friends and I had an amazing time!

My favourite parts
I've been thinking about this for a while and really I can't choose my favourite part of my holiday because it was all so amazing. However if I had to choose it would probably be getting to do lots of new and different things with my friend, cousin, aunt and grandma. (Because really that is everything)

Some of the places I went to
While I was there I visited Brisbane (mostly to fly home), Noosa, the beach, the pool, the shops and Australia Zoo.

I wanted to share some photos from my trip with you today, enjoy...
A tiger at the Zoo

As much as I dislike snakes I like this photo

We went whale watching twice!

The ocean was so pretty.
Hopefully you liked these photos, I have more from whale watching I will share in another post. Bye for now...

Chocolate Fix

Hi there everyone,

You know those days when you just feel like chocolate? Sometimes there will be some chocolate in the pantry, or someone will have made a batch of chocolate biscuits, cake or some slice that you can have but more often than not there will not be any chocolate! (apart from cocoa, but that would  be gross all by itself!) This happens to me so often that I thought I might share some of the things I make, that don't take too long, and have an amazing chocolaty taste! Hopefully you will have the ingredients you need to make these in the house, I almost always do!

1. Microwave brownies- I haven't got a recipe for this one, because there are so many out there and the all have different chocolaty-ness, but what could be better than a two-minute microwave brownies with some strawberries or ice-cream? Sure to give you the chocolate hit you are looking for.

2.Hot Chocolate- This hot chocolate recipe is the best one I have every tasted! And that is saying something, considering how many different hot chocolates I have had in my lifetime! But if you don't have a thermomix the recipe on the side of the Cadbury cocoa box is almost as good!

3.Chocolate slice- this chocolate slice takes a bit longer than the other things to make, but the amazing taste definitely makes up for it. This isn't exactly the same as the recipe I use because that one is out of a cook book and I couldn't find it online. The best thing is that it only uses cocoa so there is no need to go to the shops!

Hopefully you have gotten the chocolate fix you were after using one of these recipes. Make sure you have butter, sugar and cocoa all the time and you will never be short of chocolate!

Let me know in the comments below if you have another quick recipe you love to make when you need some chocolate!

XxxPoppy

QOTD: What is your favourite chocolate?

AOTD: Probably Lindt plain chocolate or Cadbury dairy milk, or caramel!

Bullet Journal #2

Hey,
As promised yesterday I am going to give you an update on my bullet journal experiment today. Check out this post if you want to learn more about this experiment.
In the last post I just touched on what I was going to be doing with the bullet journal and a few of the things that I was liking about it. Today I am going to be talking about the weekly layout and why I find it has helped me.

For the last two weeks I have created a two page spread that contains room for do-to lists and events for each day, as well as study tracking, blog tracking, notes and goals. In the next few days I will be uploading some pictures onto a page of the blog.
Layout
I found that this layout works really well for me, especially since I am a very visual person. I find it helpful to be able to sort from the events and tasks for each day because this allows me to break up my day and plan ahead, and there is enough room for me to add some quotes, pictures and colour.

Study Tracker
The study/blog trackers I also find really useful. My study tracker consists of a table of 9 colums and 9 rows, down the left side I write all my subjects, in the first colum I write if I have any assessment that week, and what day the assessment is on, and on the remaining 7 colums (one for each day of the week) I write a day of the week. When I spend time working on homework or studying for a subject I colour in the box for that subject on the day that I completed the task on. I find this helps me balance my time and ensure that I am spending equalish amounts of time on each subject.

Goals
I have 3 boxes for my goals in each weekly spread. I use the first box for a goal for that particular week and the other two boxes are for my long-term goals. This goal set-up helps me keep track of my aims and goals and is always there to remind me of what I have to remember to do.

That's all for today, but next Monday I will share some tips for making your bullet journal pretty and interesting. Let me know in the comments what you thought of this post and/or what you do in your bullet journal.

See you on Wednesday,

In book suggestions books books i've read ideas inspiration poppy poppy's books poppy's post post reading recently suggestions

I've been reading....

Hey there,
Finally, we only have one week of school left for this term! I can't wait for the holidays, especially because I am going to Queensland with one of my friends for a week! As I mentioned in my last post I have started a bullet journal experiment. I am really enjoying it at the moment and tomorrow I will share some of the things I've been doing with it, please let me know in the comments below if you have any bullet journal inspiration for me, or ideas that you have tried.

Today I wanted to share some of the books I've been reading recently, most of these I've been re-reading, so sorry if I've mentioned them before.

More than this- by Patrick Ness. I read this book about a year and a half ago and I remember I really enjoyed it so it has become by at-school book. If you love mystery/ dystopian or similar styles of books I can almost guarantee you'll love this one. A review of it should be going up on our goodreads account in the next few weeks.

The summer I turned pretty, it's not summer without you and we'll always have summer- by Jenny Han. I just finished re-reading this series and while they are not my all-time favourites I enjoyed reading them. These books are for lovers of romance novels and/or realistic fiction. Again, a more thorougher review will be going up on our goodreads account.

This is what happy looks like- by Jennifer E Smith. I just finished reading this book for the first time and I loved it. It is again not my faovurite ever book, but it was enjoyable and entertaining. Another one for lovers of romantic and/or realistic fiction. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see this book reviewed on the blog in the next few weeks.

Hope you will enjoy reading one of these books and don't forget to let me know if you have any suggestions for me.
See you tomorrow.

Bullet Journal Experiment #1

Hey there,
On Monday I decided that I was going to start a bullet journal. I really enjoyed looking at the ones I found on pinterest and I decided that it would be a great way to organise myself. 3 days later I have found a journal to use, a pen and started my index page as well as some other pages. For those of you who do not know below is a video that explains what a bullet journal is.

I've decided that I am going to make my bullet journal an experiment and publish weeklyish updates here. Each week I am going to give you a few tips that I have learnt and include some photos of my journal. Today I am going to share some tips for getting started.

1.Don't stress about it being neat and the order making sense- the index page means that you don't have to worry about keeping things in any order.

2.Experiment with different layouts and find the one that works for you. I am still finding the layout that works best for me and I'll let you know when I find it.

3. Use colour and pictures to make it more interesting. I am going to stick with 3 or 4 main colours to use for each page and add pictures instead of words to make my journal more exciting and, hopefully, make me want to use it more.

Let me know in the comments below if you have any tips for me to use in my bullet journal , or if you have a bullet journal.

In challange get involved have a go ideas ideas for you photo poppy poppy's photos poppy's post post September september challange september photo collage challange share try

September Photo Challenge

Hey everyone.
Last month I write up an August Photo-a-Day challenge and challenged all of you to take a photo every single day for the 31 days of August. I don't know how many of you did it but I do know that I tried (and failed) to keep up with everything and taking a photo every single day. I really liked the idea of a photo challenge but I couldn't work it into my already bursting schedule. But that gave me the idea of something a bit more relaxed and easier to fit into your lifestyle.  (Drum roll please.....)

The September Photo Collage Challenge
The September Photo Collage Challenge is simple (I guess) and it allows you to fit the challenge in and adapt it to suit your lifestyle.
The challenge is to, between now and the last day of September, fill a 3x3, or 4x4 or 5x5 or even 6x6 or 9x9 (if you are feeling ambitious) grid of photos. You choose the sized grid that you think will be most achievable for you (if you think you can take 81 different photos in the next 26 days go ahead, and make sure you let me know how you go).

Here is how it works:
1.Choose the grid that best fits what you will be able to do (I think I will be doing 5x5 or 4x4, that is only 20-25 photos).
2.Simply take the number of photos in the grid you chose that summarise your September.
3.Try and make the gird as accurate as possible, that is the challenge try and not just take photos of your exciting holiday but capture the not-so-interesting parts of you life as well, if the majority of your September was spent at home doing not-so-much your grid should reflect that.
4.Create the grid, using a collage app or website.

The exciting bit:
I figured that to make this challenge that little bit more exciting I would make it a competition.
If you participate in the challenge and at the end of September decided that your grid is amazing and you want to share it with the world (or the small part who have discovered this blog) you can email it to us (as a photo please) with a short summary about your experience and/or September for the chance to get it displayed on our blog, and the chance to create the October photo challenge with us (if that is what you would like).

So get your cameras ready and start snapping at September! We'd love to know if you are participating, let us know in the comments below. Over the next four weeks we will be sharing some tips and ideas for your September Photo Grid.

In 3 book suggestions books disconnect ideas ideas for you poppy poppy's post reading review things I love you

Books I've Loved Recently

I am so sorry that we haven’t posted in almost a week now, both Mop and I have been super busy with school work but everything is under control now and things are going to go back too normal.
During the last weekend I worked on updating our good reads account, which you can find here, and I decided that I haven’t shared any book ideas with you in a while, so that is what I am going to do today. These books are the ones I have read most recently.

The last leaves falling. This book is about a teenage boy, Sora who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, one that has taken away all his dreams for his future and even his hopes of finishing the school year. Desperate for someone to talk to him normally, Sora turns to an online messaging forum, where he can talk to others without them knowing about his illness. To his surprise Sora makes some friends who he trusts enough to invite over. Together with Mai and Kaito, Sora spends his last few months of his life as happy as he possibly can be.

The sisterhood of the travelling pants. This book follows four life-long friends (Carmen, Lena, Tibby and Bridget) as they spend their first summer apart. On the eve of their separation the girls find some pants that magically seem to fit all four of them, despite their different body shapes, the girls agree to send the pants between them during the summer as a way of keeping in touch. The book alternates between the four girls and their summers. Following Carmen to her dad’s new house, Bridget to a soccer camp in Mexico, Lena to Greece to visit her grandparents and Tibby to the local shop for her summer job.

One. This book is about conjoined twins, Tibby and Grace. Since they were born Tibby and Grace have not known anything but being one, and they have never wanted to be separated. But one fateful day Grace begins to get very sick and there is only one way the doctors can save her life. The girls have to make what seems like an impossible choice, their lives changing forever no matter what they choose.

Hopefully you have found one of these books (at least) appeals to you. Let me know in the comments below what books you have been reading recently.

In 5 achieving you best advice assessment feedback ideas ideas for you organisation poppy poppy's post school school organisation you

5 tips to help you manage peak-assessment time.

Hey,
It's just past the middle of term 3 for me and that means that all the assessment is piling up, there are so many dates to remember, things to write and bibliographies to write. Sometimes it all feels a bit too much and like you will never be able to get over the workload but using the tips and websites below will hopefully help make things a bit easier for you, and help you achieve your best. (I know they all help me a lot).

1.Make an assessment calendar! This is a super simple and easy way to know what is coming up. Assessment planners are pretty much a calendar of the term or semester in which you write all your due dates, tests, exams and distribution dates. To make one simply create a table with a row for each week of school you have (plus one extra) and 6 columns. The way I organise mine is to have the weeks down the right hand side, and the days of the week across the top. (That wasn't a very clear explanation so I've added an image below). You then add the dates (like a calendar) and fill in the assessment.

2.Use a diary/planner. A diary or planner gives you a chance to record all the things you have to do for each day, the classes you have and assessment that could be given out or due.

3.Start as soon as you get the task and work on it steadily. You've probably heard this a million times before but starting the assessment as soon as you get it makes a world of difference the night before it is due (you get that amount of time to do it for a reason). But make sure you do a little bit most days (or starting early will be pointless)

4.Break the task into mini-tasks. I find this a great way to make the task a bit more approachable. The day I get the task I usually spend about half an hour working out 'mini-tasks' and creating ',mini-due-dates' for the tasks. This helps me see how far along I am and how much I have left. It also helps you to not panic about how much you have left to do.

5.Use some of these websites. I use all these websites for pretty much all my assignments and they make things so much easier. Hopefully they will help you too.
Wunderlist- wunderlist is super useful for point four, it lets you create folders for different assignments and break the assignment into chunks. You can create due dates for each chunk and even break your afternoon up into sections (more about wunderlist coming up next week)

Cite this for me- I'm sure you've all heard of cite this for me but it is soooooo useful I couldn't leave it out of this list. Basically it creates a bibliography for you, all you have to do is copy and paste the website url.

Instagrok- Instagrok is like a search engine mind map. You type in a key word and it brings up heaps of relevant information in a mind map format.

Grammarly- grammarly isn't quite as helpful as I'd hoped but it still works pretty well and can really help push your grades up.

Hopefully these websites and tips will help you as much as they help me. Don't forget to let me know in the comments if you have any other tips or websites that might be useful.
