In holidays lights photography poppy sydney

Vivid Sydney Photo Diary

Over the weekend, when we were in Sydney, Abi and I were lucky enough to get to visit the vivid light display.
For those of you who do not know, vivid is a once a year light display than usually runs for most of June. It lights up various attractions around the harbour, including the bridge and the opera house.
I have been to Sydney a few times but have never before had the chance to visit vivid and was very glad that I did because it was so cool.
Enjoy these photos of it...

In chocolate holidays long weekend photo diary sydney

Sydney Photo Diary- City

Hello lovelies,
I am writing this about two hours after arriving home from an amazing weekend away with Abi  and her mum and sister. It's my birthday pretty soon and they decided to take me to Sydney for the long weekend.

We left on Friday afternoon, leaving school a bit early (and missing religion :-)) and arrived around dinner time. After having a good nights sleep, we began our big day in the city.

We caught the bus into the city, a bit longer than we are used to in our smaller city. And Abi and I listened to a spotify playlist (after realising we should probably have created and downloaded one onto my phone, with both of our music on it).

Arriving in the city, Abi and I were slightly awed by the huge skyscrapers and bustling city, people going about their everyday lives. Sydney is so much bigger than the city we live in, and it is a bit of an adjustment.

Our first stop was Pitt Street mall. We visited a few shops, getting t-shirts from sportsgirl, jumpers from cotton on and some lunch from Grill'd.
After lunch we walked over to the Queen Victoria Building, where we visited the Haigs- the best chocolate shop (in our opinion). Free samples from Haigs gave us the energy to continue our adventures, and we moved on and walked through the Queen Victoria Building.

Next up was Miss Shop, where we spent an awfully long time (mostly Abi trying things on with the help of her new best friend, the personal stylist)

The Galleries Victoria was next on the list, with a lengthy stay in their bookstore. Partly to rest our tired feet, and partly to enjoy all those amazing books.

After Galleries Victoria we dragged our tired feet down to the harbour for Vivid, which deserves a whole post to itself- coming on Thursday.

Did you enjoy this post? Would you like to see more of these kinds of photo-diaries? Have you ever been to Sydney?
xxxPoppy.

In camping combined. easter holidays

Easter Camping

Over the Easter long weekend, we went camping in the snowy mountains. The two of us (plus our families) spent four days in a tiny town near Adaminaby. We both went to the Easter Fair together and had a great time.

things we accomplished (in an ironic and 100% joking way)
-talked to the boat guy about getting our boat licenses. Abi has never met anyone more interested in maritime and boaty things.
-ate a lot of chocolate. A lot of chocolate.
-Poppy took tons of photos.
-Abi listened to bad music.
-Abi had a steak sandwich from the Easter fair, which was food of the gods
Here are some photos from the weekend...

Which is your favourite?
xxPoppy and Abi

In 2017 camping holidays photo photography poppy poppy's photography

Camping- January 2017

It's gotten to that time, I'm sure you know what I mean. The start of the school year is alright, meeting your new teachers and getting to know your classrooms, but most of all not having any stress! But by now you've gotten used to everything and exactly how long the school year is going to be has set in. (It always makes me wonder how we get through every class of every day- that's almost 200 days!).

I'm starting to miss the endless nothings of the holidays. Which makes this the perfect time for a holiday post.
I've (finally) gotten around to editing all the photos from my summer camping trip, and today I am going to be sharing some of my favourites (plus some stories) with you.

But first I'd better explain. Every year my family go camping with 4 other families in the last week of the school holidays. For the last 8 (I think?) years we've gone to the coast. But this year we went inland, to a river north of Sydney in New South Whales.

It took a while to find, but the camping spot was amazing. It was a private property right on the river, with a stunning tree avenue and countless piles of things to explore. The first few days were incredibly hot, 40 degrees Celsius on one of them! So the river was the best place to be. The cooler days were perfect to take photos on, I reckon I could have spent hours and hours just looking at things to take photos of. Even as it was, I ended up with almost 500 photos to sort through. I haven't been through all of them yet, but I've had a quick look and picked some of my favourites for you. Enjoy xx.

Let me know if you liked these photos in the comments below!

In enjoy fun holidays ideas photography poppy poppy's photography poppy's post queensland share

My trip to Queensland

Hey,
Last Monday I flew to visit my Aunt, Cousin and Grandma in Queensland with one of my friends and I had an amazing time!

My favourite parts
I've been thinking about this for a while and really I can't choose my favourite part of my holiday because it was all so amazing. However if I had to choose it would probably be getting to do lots of new and different things with my friend, cousin, aunt and grandma. (Because really that is everything)

Some of the places I went to
While I was there I visited Brisbane (mostly to fly home), Noosa, the beach, the pool, the shops and Australia Zoo.

I wanted to share some photos from my trip with you today, enjoy...
A tiger at the Zoo

As much as I dislike snakes I like this photo

We went whale watching twice!

The ocean was so pretty.
Hopefully you liked these photos, I have more from whale watching I will share in another post. Bye for now...
